FIRE DEPARTMENT

The renovation and expansion of the No. 1 Fire Station was completed this year. The citizens of Ponca City voted in November of 1997 for this project. Proceeds derived from the approved 1/2 cent sales tax were used for the fire station’s renovation and expansion, comprising of approximately 21,450 square feet for fire administration offices, equipment storage, vehicle bays, a training room, kitchen & living quarters and a reception area. The additional square footage and efficient floor plan enable the station to operate effectively and meet stringent safety and hazardous disposal requirements.
